I'm back (as promised) to write about my trip to the States! But before anything, thank you friends, for either sending me personal messages or sending me off at the airport! It was a red-eye flight so i really wasn't expecting you guys to come, but thanks a lot (insert lots of hearts)!

So first up, hello Los Angeles, the City of Angels! My sister joined me for the first 2 weeks of travel, and after she left, i traveled alone for the next 6 days (it was the best decision i have ever made, but more on solo traveling later). The flight to LA was really gruelling. We took Emirates (hello, A380) so we had a transit at Dubai. It was a 7 hours flight to Dubai, a 4 hours transit and another 16 hours non-stop flight to LA. Yeap, totally not kidding. I immediately checked my flight back from Vancouver to Singapore (i'm flying via Air Canada and Singapore Air then) but lo and behold, i have a 15 hours non-stop flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong (with 2 transits). Sigh, bless my butt. But you know what, when i touched ground after that 16 hours non-stop flight, i felt like i can do anything in this world (a bit weird, but yeah, thats how i felt that time LOL). The first few day in LA was pretty rough too because jet lag was real. We were 15 hours behind SG's time so... we felt crazily tired during the day and pretty much awake at night. But all is well, we had fun nonetheless!
The immigrations at LA was really crazy; it took us almost 3 hours before we can get our luggages, figure out how and where to take the Flyaway bus and get to our Airbnb. We stayed in Hollywood and the bus had a stop near Hollywood/Vine station so it was good, though it felt a bit far when we have to drag our luggages around. Also, if anyone who's reading this is planning to head to LA and take the Flyaway bus, do remember to apply for a credit/debit card beforehand because they only accept cards for payment. Anyhow, after some hiccups here and there, we managed to get to the Airbnb in one piece and headed out for a late dinner!
Mel's Drive-In
Chilli Cheese Fries
Turkey Burger
Fresh Banana Shake
It was Mel's Drive-In for dinner and it was so so so good, especially the shake (and even the ambience). If you like those jukeboxes and late-night burger joints that you always read about in fiction books, then this is the place to go! Many people said that you need to have at least one shake when you are in the States.. so yeah, we did, and definitely no regrets!
