Let's continue from where we left off!

Natural History Museum, LA

Ricky's Fish Tacos

Griffith Observatory

California Donuts

Hollywood & Highland Mall

MILK

Santa Monica Pier

Whole Foods

Universal Studios Hollywood

That's it for the City of Angels! Everyone was asking me why i chose to go to LA and especially since its kinda out of the way for me. The main reason is definitely because i wanted to go to the new Harry Potter and the Wizarding World at Universal Studios Hollywood! Sure, I can go to the one at Orlando but i thought i should also take this opportunity to head to all of the places that i have 'screenshot' from Instagram (like MILK and Griffith Observatory).

Anyhow, going to Harry Potter and the Wizarding World was such a dream (in fact, still feels like a dream to me). I daresay that i'm a big fan of Harry Potter (though maybe not as crazy as others) that i can't even remember how many times i re-watched all the films and re-read all the books. I even have a Pottermore account too haha (hello, Gryffindor house and Badger patronus). Needless to say, i was prepared to spend a lot of money on HP merchandises, which i obviously did in the end haha LOL. But yay to new sweater, scarf, shirt, book, bookmarks, cup, pins, sherbet lemon candies, chocolate frogs, bertie bott's every flavor beans and tons of memories! I don't usually go crazy over merchandises (after lower secondary school days) because everything's so ridiculously overpriced. But then, when's the next time i will be back at HP World right? Ok, craziness aside, you guys have got to take the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey Ride if you have the chance to!! It was so so so good and you get to experience everything that you saw/read about HP, like flying on a broomstick, Quidditch and be up close with the Dementors and Spiders etc. I also took the Flight of the Hippogriff ride, which was good but HP and the Forbidden Journey was so much better!

I have never been to Universal Studios Singapore because i always thought that the ticket prices are crazy, like $74 for a ticket?! But hahahaha wait for it, Universal Studios Hollywood weekday general ticket costs.... SGD$140 LOL. Actually after being in the US and Canada, i realise that things in Singapore aren't expensive after all. If you ever once thought that food, drinks, groceries or whatnot in Singapore is expensive, you have got to be kidding me (no kidding). A plate of chicken over rice from a roadside food truck in NYC costs USD6 which is about SGD8. And eating out in Canada is also crazily expensive - KFC Twister Meal (the one with a wrap and fries) costs SGD12; one plate of chinese food at the food court costs SGD11 as well. I would say, skip international fast food chains like KFC and McDonalds while you are traveling in US and Canada because its just too expensive and it doesn't even taste good at all (really, Singapore does it way better which is kinda surprising somehow). Plus in Ontario, you need to add another 13% HST to everything that you purchase, be it food, drinks, household stuff and clothing etc. Same goes for services like haircuts, where you need to add a 13% HST and tips (minimum 10%). So yeah, go and figure out the sums ya.

Wish i can blog more frequently but school work's coming in and i'm already having my mid-terms and assignments! But i will definitely be back with NYC Part I soon! Till then!!

Stay safe and happy always, guys x
