Finals have ended about... a little over 2 weeks? And since I didn't get any internships this summer (also because of the lack of effort in finding one, no thanks to exchange uncertainties), I'm currently living the sloth life by catching up on korean dramas and readings heh. I also got down to planning for my exchange (finally) but only to realise that I have so many things to prepare and enquire for. Guess I didn't mentioned this earlier because of my lack of updates, but I'm heading to Canada for my exchange in September! Which means I will be spending a good 4.5 months abroad and be back in SMU only next year (yay).
I'm really hoping that my exchange will be an eye-opening experience for me. I'm heading there alone (only SMU kid and the only Singaporean) and to be honest, it is really intimidating. Travelling and studying alone for 4 months? The longest that i have left home was for 2 weeks. Will I be able to do this? Will I be able to survive? What if i don't like it there? Thoughts like these came to mind. But then, I guess this will be a good time to be independent. If not now, then when? And of course, a really good opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and to understand myself better!
As much as it is intimidating, I'm rather excited at the same time. I'm heading to Los Angeles (hello Harry Potter World?!?!?!), New York City and Toronto before heading to St Catharines (just 15mins away from Niagara Falls!!!!!!!) for school. I was initially planning to head back to Singapore before Christmas since my finals will end on 20th December. But I decided to head to Vancouver so I guess I will only be back after Christmas? One downside about travelling is that buying air tickets, looking for accommodations and planning itineraries can be such a pain (how can I even tell whether the prices will drop or increase tomorrow). But anyhow, hopefully all the planning and executions will turn out well! Can't wait for all the sight-seeing, food and USS Hollywood with the newly-opened The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!! (number 1 die-hard Harry Potter fan here hehehe)
